Giving Thanks During The Holiday Season

Thanksgiving is fast approaching. It is a time that we gather with family and friends.

This Thanksgiving let us remember why we are able to give thanks! If we look to the world, we will see much that will give us discouragement. However, we are not of those who are discouraged for we are in Christ and he is in us.

This Thursday when we celebrate by enjoying comforting foods such as turkey, ham, stuffing, mash potatoes, and a host of other delicacies, let us give thanks to the one who has provided all in all. Christ Jesus, for God gave all so we can receive all that the father has for us. All that Jesus receives from the father is ours, because Jesus laid down his life so we can have his life, his inheritance in the father.

Lord, I pray for all of those who need a warm place, food, and company this holiday season that they will receive and be grateful, in Jesus name we pray, Amen.
